We have a soft spot for Underground Food, not only because the owners are pleasant people, but mainly because no one believes us when we say it’s possible to sell dried worms on Amazon.
Before launching sales on Amazon, the company relied solely on the local market in the Czech Republic. We entered the German Amazon.de marketplace in January 2020, and to this day, we believe we couldn’t have picked a better time.
As the global pandemic spread, Amazon sales in Europe increased, and, of course, so did the demand for dried worms. In an incredibly short time (just six months), with the help of aggressive advertising campaigns, we secured top positions in organic search on Amazon, becoming a market leader.
However, this also brought some challenges, such as unwanted attention from competitors, a few fake reviews, and the copying of our packaging. We tackled all of these challenges while ensuring we stayed fully compliant with Amazon’s rules and policies.
Today, after several years of selling on Amazon, Underground Food offers more than 30 types of products, and with many of them, we are the market leader with the highest monthly Amazon sales.
After the success in selling dried worms, we have now ventured into the dog treat market on Amazon. Wish us luck!
